Corelis and LogicVision
Team To Provide Customers
With Innovative and Affordable Test Solutions
For Components, Boards And Systems
Cooperation includes the development of
a hardware
demonstration board for both companies’ products
Cerritos, CA, October 20, 1997 -–
LogicVision, Inc. (San Jose, Calif.) and Corelis, Inc.
(Cerritos, Calif.) today announced a joint effort to provide
customers with innovative and affordable test solutions for
components, boards and systems. These solutions will include
products from both LogicVision and Corelis that complement each
other and whose interoperability has been mutually tested and
verified.
The two companies are using a
jointly-developed PowerPC™-based single board computer to
demonstrate a complete, cost-effective solution to testing
on-board memory arrays through the combination of LogicVision's
embedded test technology and Corelis' boundary-scan tools. The
Corelis Net-1149.1 network-based boundary-scan controller
delivers instructions to the board's IEEE 1149.1 bus to initiate
and monitor testing performed by LogicVision's memBIST-XT
configurable controller embedded in an FPGA. Full
application-speed testing of a cluster of DRAM and SRAM
components on the board, including the board interconnect, is
carried out by the memBIST-XT controller.
"Combining LogicVision’s powerful
built-in-self-test (BIST) technology with Corelis' boundary-scan
tools will benefit customers by providing an integrated test
solution for component, board and system test," said Menachem
Blasberg, president of Corelis, Inc. "Customers using our Net
1149.1 network based boundary-scan controller will be able to
test their boards, including those with chips containing BIST,
on various hosts and workstations.

The above diagram highlights the
value delivered by the solution from the two companies. Testing
a cluster of memories on a board often requires a large capital
investment and a significant test program development effort. An
efficient, high quality, easily affordable board test can be
achieved with minimal development effort by combining the
capabilities of the products from LogicVision and Corelis.
Vinod Agarwal, president and CEO of
LogicVision stated, "Teaming with Corelis helps our customers
extend the value of our product and technology well beyond the
chip level to the board and system level."
Corelis and LogicVision will also
undertake combined marketing efforts designed to demonstrate the
benefits of integrating technology from both companies. This may
include joint efforts to design and develop specific test
solutions for customers.
LogicVision is the industry’s
leading supplier of embedded test solutions for chips, boards
and systems. The company’s solutions combine flexible
intellectual property (IP) building blocks with powerful
automation software to deliver a complete embedded test solution
based around Built-In Self-Test (BIST) technology. LogicVision’s
solutions are designed to integrate easily with existing scan-DFT
approaches and Verilog or VHDL-based design flows. They deliver
higher quality testing than traditional scan-ATPG while reducing
test development time.
Existing products include: icBIST™,
a complete solution for at-speed testing of embedded memories
and logic as well as implementation of the IEEE 1149.1 boundary
scan standard; memBIST-IC™ for at-speed testing of embedded
memories; and memBIST-XT™ for at-speed testing of board-level
memory arrays including the memory interface. LogicVision’s
customers include leading companies in the communications,
networking, computer, consumer, semiconductor and
military/aerospace markets. LogicVision is headquartered in San
Jose with offices in Waltham, Mass.; Richardson, Texas; Ottawa,
Ontario; and Burridge, United Kingdom.

Corelis is headquartered in
Cerritos, California, and is a world leader in boundary-scan
test systems, microprocessor development tools, and VXI bus test
instruments. Corelis also provides various engineering services
and is well known for its outstanding customer support.
Corelis' boundary-scan solutions
include both hardware and software products designed to meet
users needs throughout a product's complete life cycle. This
includes boundary-scan development and debug tools such as JTAG
emulators for the PowerPC, 29K, and i960Rx/Hx processors,
boundary-scan manufacturing test systems, and post-manufacturing
boundary-scan test tools for a product's field support and
maintenance. Most users can fulfill all of their boundary-scan
needs by building on a single Corelis boundary-scan hardware
platform and adding various software modules as the life-cycle
of a product progresses.
